Video Chat Camera or Microphone Not Working? A Checklist

Check site permissions, camera selection, muted audio and connection problems before your next video chat on OGAM.

Camera or microphone access

If you previously denied access, open the browser's site permissions for ogamtalk.com and review camera and microphone access. Also check whether your device allows the browser to use them. Change permissions only for a site you trust; you do not need to allow every website. Browser and device menus vary by version.

Black screen, silence or echo

Close other apps that may be using the camera. Check the camera cover, microphone mute switch and selected input or output device. Bluetooth headphones may still be connected even when you are not wearing them. Ask the other person whether they can hear you; hearing their voice does not prove your microphone is working. Headphones can help reduce speaker echo.

Frozen video or repeated disconnections

Check your internet connection and pause large downloads. After ending the current call, reconnect to a stable network and reopen the browser if needed. Do not repeatedly start paid calls to test equipment; first use your device's local camera or voice recorder. A local test checks hardware, but does not guarantee the browser has permission.

Still not working?

Record your device model, browser version, time and the exact symptom before contacting support. Share an error message if available, but never send passwords, verification codes or private call recordings. A work or school device may require help from its administrator.
